SAT Invoice changes Mexico services effective December 1, 2017

November 02, 2017

Dear KCSM Customer,

The Mexican tax authority known as the SAT (Sistema de Administracion Tributaria) has published new requirements related to invoices issued by Mexican companies, which will go into effect on December 1, 2017. These changes are the responsibility of all Mexican businesses and customers, not simply KCSM.

In summary, these changes include:

  • Invoices must now carry standard field names and service description codes outlined in the official SAT catalog
  • Credit memos must reference the applicable invoice(s)
  • Cancellations and/or subsequent reinvoicing must have customer and SAT approval within 72 hours
  • Companies must now issue payment receipt confirmations

For more information on this change, please visit the SAT website where the full CFDI 3.3 guide is available for review (Spanish only). Additionally, KCSM will provide a more detailed letter to contacts of our KCSM Credit and Collections team.

Should you have any questions on the above, please contact our or KCSM’s Invoicing and Credit & Collections department

Thank you for being a loyal customer.
