Update on Roodhouse Subdivision Service Interruption

June 05, 2019

On May 30th we communicated that excessive rains had caused the Mississippi River to rise causing flooding on the Roodhouse Subdivision near Louisiana, MO, resulting in a service interruption.

While it was unknown how long the area would be out of service, the original thought was that mid this week the river would have crested allowing repairs to be completed and service to resume. However, the river has yet to crest and continues to fluctuate and there are other factors related to the area in terms of levees that have not resolved as of yet. We continue to work on detours where possible with our partner carriers to minimize the disruption and will do so until the line is back in service. Even with the detours, service delays should be expected in the area.

Crews continue to monitor the conditions so that repairs can be made and service can resume as soon as possible. Once the line has reopened, we will send out an update announcing this. No news means the line is still closed to traffic.

If you have questions related to this communication, please don’t hesitate to contact KCSR Customer Solutions team for assistance. The team will be monitoring the situation and can provide additional information specific to this area of our network.
