KCSM General Demurrage Information
- The demurrages tariffs are approved by Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes.
- When a car cannot be placed at the customer's facility for reasons attributable to the customer, demurrage is generated.
- To proactively monitor demurrage, customers can use online Track and Trace tools.
How Demurrage Charges Are Assessed
- Demurrages tariff for the first to the fifth day is $997.56 pesos per car per day.
- From the sixth day on demurrage tariff is $2,280.37 pesos per car per day.
- Private cars stored on KCSM will incur a charge of $477.12 pesos per car per day.
- When a car is spotted at the customer's facility, the customer has 24 free hours to load or unload the car. After this time demurrage can apply.
- In the calculation of delays, there are not assessed the holidays that the Federal Law of the Work indicates.
- The free time calculation considers the following rules:

- All prices are in pesos and do not include IVA (value added tax).
Billing for Demurrage
- Every week KCSM sends a demurrage report to customers.
- Customers can validate their demurrage information.
- If a demurrage claim exists, it can be presented to a demurrage clerk who will review it with the customer.
- During the third week of every month, demurrage of the month behind is invoiced.
- Payment terms of credit are applied as established for each customer.
- If a customer does not present claims before the invoice is made, KCSM assumes that the customer accepts the demurrage and proceeds to invoice the quantity shown on the weekly demurrage report.
