KCSR Lifts Some Embargoes following Hurricane Ike
In the wake of Hurricane Ike and related storms, The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR) maintenance of way forces have worked quickly to clear trees downed on the lines from Shreveport, Louisiana south to Beaumont, Texas, west to Dallas, Texas and north to Heavener, Oklahoma. As a result, KCSR is cancelling embargoes for the Beaumont, Texas station, as well as stations from Corpus Christi to Laredo, Texas. Embargoes remain in effect for Port Arthur and Port Neches, Texas stations until further assessments can be made. KCSR is doing everything possible to restore service to normal as safely and quickly as possible; however, delays can be expected in these areas.
