KCSR operating department announces reorganization
KCSR senior vice president operations Dave Ebbrecht has announced that as of January 1, the transportation and mechanical departments were reorganized to further improve efficiencies, operational effectiveness and front line decision-making.  The primary changes include moving from two to three field divisions, strengthening positive train control efforts and establishing a network services team.

In an effort to better align resources to achieve these objectives and more stringent operational requirements, there are now three divisions.

• Midwest Division
o Territory - East St. Louis, Ill. west to Kansas City, Mo. and south to just north of Shreveport, La.
o Transportation - Chad Devenney was promoted from Midwest Division superintendent to general manager of the division and is based in Kansas City.
o Mechanical – Rick Galvan was moved from director shop operations in Shreveport to director mechanical maintenance in Kansas City.

• Southeast Division
o Territory - Counce, Tenn. to Jackson, Miss., west to Shreveport and south to New Orleans, La.
o Transportation - David Carroll was promoted from Southeast Division superintendent to general manager of the division and is based in Jackson.
o Mechanical – Chris Burchfield was moved from director mechanical maintenance for the Midwest Division to the same position for the Southeast Division in Shreveport.

• Southwest Division
o Territory - Laredo, Texas to and including Shreveport.
o Transportation - In a lateral move, Mark Redd was re-titled from assistant vice president transportation of the Southeast Division to general manager of the Southwest Division and is based in Houston, Texas.
o Mechanical – Mark Williams was moved from director mechanical maintenance for the former Southeast Division to the same position for the Southwest Division in Houston.

Also reporting to Redd is the KCSR system-wide safety group, which includes Eddie Jameson, who was promoted from director to general director standardization and training, general director safety Trenton Anderson and senior manager regulatory reporting and safety analysis Dean Larson.

Quality control directors have been assigned to each division.  Based in Shreveport, quality control director Diana Greeley was moved from the Midwest Division to the Southeast Division and quality control director Michael Wilkinson was moved from the Southeast Division to the Southwest Division.  In Kansas City, Ben Mitchell was moved from terminal superintendent at Knoche Yard to quality control director for the Midwest Division.  Mike Curry was moved from director network planning to terminal superintendent for Knoche yard.

Two assistant vice presidents received new responsibilities and titles.  Claude Friesland is now assistant vice president positive train control/advanced systems implementation and Rick Stones is now assistant vice president advanced systems planning.

Greg Walling was promoted from general director service design to assistant vice president network services.  Reporting to Walling are general director equipment control Cary Tippins, general director business solutions Chet Heuszel and planning group head Alvin Schrepel.

KCSR vice president and chief engineer John Jacobsen has announced that also effective January 1, the engineering department was structured into three divisions that align with the transportation and mechanical department structure, with the exception of the line from Shreveport to Dallas, which is covered in engineering by the Southwest Division.  The only engineering personnel change is that Mark Wille has been promoted from senior project manager in Kansas City to Southeast Division engineer in Jackson.  Doug Haywood remains division engineer for the Southwest Division and Shawn Vecellio remains division engineer for the Midwest Division.
