Shreveport Officer on the Train event spreads public safety message

On July 23, KCS officials and 11 Louisiana State Troopers partnered for an Officer on a Train event in Shreveport, La. Officers were stationed on a moving KCS train and at nearby crossings, watching for grade crossing violations. During the event, motorists received 37 citations and 13 warnings. Officers also issued 12 citations for non-railroad-related violations and 10 individuals were spoken to about trespassing on railroad property.
A local TV station attended the event, further spreading the public safety message to the community of Shreveport.
Special thanks to the KCS transportation and police departments for organizing the event and to Operation Lifesaver volunteers for their participation.
