KCS provides new rail cars to TTX pool for auto traffic demand

Last week, KCS director asset management Wayne Winkle and senior manager mechanical maintenance Ryan Clark traveled to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to inspect the first of 200 bi-level rack and flat cars manufactured for KCS by National Steel Car.  The new cars will be used to protect loadings of finished vehicles in Mexico.

Each rail car is designed to haul 10 to 12 large finished vehicles, such as sport utility vehicles, trucks and vans.  All 200 rail cars are expected to be delivered to the TTX reload pool by June 2013.
