KCS offers the premiere rail route between the industrial heartlands of the U.S. and Mexico, offering customers seamless transportation across Laredo/Nuevo Laredo, the largest cross border gateway between the two countries.

Approximately 2.6 million truckloads originate or terminate in KCS’ cross-border target market.  With driver shortages and truckload rates, increasingly customers are searching for capacity options. KCS operates the rail bridge on both sides of the border. With pre-clearance for Customs, using rail instead of truck means your shipment will arrive days ahead of your competitors and at a lower cost.

In addition, your shipment will be kept secure. In 2010, the customer claims rate for theft, vandalism or accidents for all shipment moving on KCS in Mexico was 0.02 percent, which means that 99.98 percent of all loads we transported moved without a claim. This record is due to a multi-layered, safety and security process throughout the network. In addition to our own internal system of checks and balances, the process is connected to and supported by a high level of federal, state and local law enforcement. A primary focus of this effort involves maintaining train velocity, which reduces the likelihood for incidents to occur. By moving our customer’s shipments more efficiently, we are also keeping them secure.
