OVERVIEW

More than 100 different food products, including sugar, corn syrup, distillers dried grains and soybean meal
are moving on KCS. To date, one of the most significant areas of conversion from truck to rail is the food product segment.
This is due primarily to the convenience of KCS’ seamless, cross border network to key consumption areas in the U.S. and Mexico.
Commodities include peanuts, sweeteners, starches, oils, tallow, fresh and frozen foods (except for consumer goods such as beer, beverages, and canned goods).
Refrigerator cars, equipped and unequipped boxcars.
