WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

KCS’ system is, in most places, approved to handle up to 143 tons gross weight on
rail (GWOR). However, in several locations the track structure is not capable of
adequately handling and distributing 143 tons GWOR.
To eliminate damage to rail infrastructure that can occur from the shipments of
rail cars that exceed the maximum GWOR, KCS is publishing restrictions on its line
to commit to the safe, damage-free delivery of our customer’s shipments.
