December 11, 2015

On December 1, Administración Portuaria Integral (API) de Tampico hosted an event in San Luis Potosí for approximately 50 people from the logistics community, including representatives of the port, terminals, Customs and potential customers.  KCSM presidente, gerente general y representante ejecutivo Jose Zozaya was among the speakers at the event.  Also representing KCSM were vicepresidente de ventas y mercadotecnia soluciones de negocios Carlos Velez and ejecutiva de ventas Roxana Martínez.

The purpose of the event was to promote the commercial partnership between API Tampico and KCSM and to share the benefits of using the port and its rail connection between Tampico and San Luis Potosí.  API Tampico director general Jesús Orozco Alfaro illustrated the port’s potential, advantages over traditional Gulf of México ports, planned projects and how the port will be affected by an increase in automotive business and México’s energy reform.  Zozaya talked about KCSM’s relationship with the port, service to customers and investments in Mexico.

Martínez, said, “Our primary objective with this event was to draw the supply chain’s attention to San Luis Potosí, one of the most developed regions in México.  KCSM sees great potential in the Port of Tampico as an additional gateway for energy products.”
