Beginning of Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. and Canada - 2024

March 04, 2024

As a courtesy notice we would like to alert you that at 02:00 a.m. this Sunday, March 10, 2024, Daylight Saving Time in Canada and the United States, including the borders of Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros, begins.

Mexico, with the exception of the northern border towns, will not be moving to Daylight Saving Time and will remain on standard time year-round. As a result, there will be a one-hour time difference between Central time in the United States and Central Standard Time in Mexico where the US will be one hour ahead.

From March 10 through November 3, the cutoff time for scheduling freight and releases will be one hour earlier in the United States. Additionally, MyKCS, our customer portal, will be transacting using Central Daylight Time of the US.

Please note that cutoff times related to demurrage, yards and trains will not be impacted by this one-hour difference.

We hope you find this notice useful in planning your cross-border transit. Should you have any questions on this, please do not hesitate to contact our CPKC or CPKCM Customer Solutions team who can assist you.

Thank you for being a loyal customer and we look forward to continuing to serve you.
