Fuel Surcharge for April 2024

Dear Valued Customer:

As a courtesy notice, effective April 1, 2024, fuel surcharge on rate publications applying the fuel surcharge methodology set forth in the KCSR and KCSM Rules Publication tariffs described below will be adjusted using the following: 

Per mile and per KM amounts apply to price authorities referencing fuel calculation based on distance. Percent of revenue amounts apply to Intermodal price authorities referencing fuel calculation based on this method.

KCSR fuel surcharge was adjusted in accordance with:

• Rules Publications KCS 9011, Item 240, based upon the WTI average price, and Item 245, based upon the OHD/Percentage Weekly – U.S. Intermodal.
• Rules Publication KCS 9012, Item 240, based upon the average price per gallon of highway diesel fuel.

KCSM fuel surcharge was adjusted in accordance with:

• Rules Publication KCSM, Items 3.6 and 3.7, based upon variation in the average price of fuel (PEMEX TAR Irapuato, before VAT).
