Service highlights this week
CPKC expects colder temperatures through the northern Canadian prairie region to start the week with warmer conditions returning mid-week. Seasonal weather conditions are expected across the balance of our intermodal network.
We will continue to provide updates should conditions change with regard to potential network impacts.
During the winter months it is imperative walking areas, parking locations and dock facilities are safe and free of debris. Containers also must be cleared of snow and ice when ready for pickup. Sanding or cleaning away snow or ice is one of the ways that poor winter weather effects can be mitigated.
The CPKC Customer Safety Handbook provides clear direction on safe rail operations and can help to educate your employees on the potential hazards on and around tracks. Please click here to access the CPKC Customer Safety Handbook.

On Friday, February 16, 2024, CPKC requested the appointment of a Federal Conciliation Officer in order to assist CPKC and both the TCRC – Train & Engine (T&E) division and the TCRC – Rail Canada Traffic Controllers (RCTC) division with reaching renewed collective agreements at the bargaining table. CPKC is and will remain focused on, and committed to, arriving at a negotiated outcome.
