As a courtesy notice, effective tomorrow, February 7, 2020, the Mexican Customs Authority is implementing a change to ensure uninterrupted operations at the border in the event their customs system is unavailable.
Each Mexican Broker is required to complete and use a Web Service 8 and submit via VUCEM the data to be used in the event a contingency is declared by Mexican Customs. Mexican Customs Brokers will be required to continue delivering a physical copy of the pedimento to the Customs offices in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico until such time as the program is fully implemented.
All Mexican Brokers should be aware of this change and should be in compliance by tomorrow, February 7th, 2020. Please note that failure to comply could result in costly delays at the border.
