Ingating of NS shipments to KCS intermodal terminals resumes today

February 22, 2021

As communicated on Friday, the majority of the U.S. and Mexico suffered a prolonged and extreme winter weather event. Below freezing temperatures and snow and ice resulted in electrical outages and dangerous conditions across the KCS network.

Due to these events, inbound intermodal shipments from Norfolk Southern were temporarily halted to KCS’ intermodal terminals located in Wylie, TX, Laredo, TX, and Salinas Victoria, NL, Interpuerto, SL and Puerta Mexico, EM, Mexico.

We are pleased to report that NS ingates for Domestic 53’ traffic will resume at noon today. Additionally, international shipments destined to Wylie, TX, will resume.

Should you have any questions on your shipments, please don’t hesitate to contact our KCS Customer Solutions in the U.S. or KCSM Customer Solutions team in Mexico who will gladly assist you.

Thank you for your understanding.
