Service has resumed for Caltzontzin District

December 01, 2020

Since late September 2020, the main line on the Caltzontzin District has been blocked due to protests occurring on or near the Kansas City Southern de Mexico’s (KCSM) track impeding our ability to continue without risk to the protestors.

After weeks of constant contact with the local, state and federal government on the matter, we are pleased to report the as of this morning, Tuesday, December 1st, the track has been cleared of protestors and service as resumed. While we remain cautiously optimistic that the mainline will remain clear, there is risk that the situation could reoccur.

Due to the backlog of shipments, the Force Majeure will remain in place until such time as normal service has resumed.  We will communicate when the Force Majeure has been lifted.

We will be monitoring the situation closely and will communicate should this not be the case.

Please do not hesitate to contact our KCSM Customer Solutions team with any questions you may have.

As always, we thank you for your understanding and patience.
