Weather Alert – Tropical Storm Delta heading to the Gulf

We would like to inform you of approaching tropical storm posing potential risks to the KCSR network.  

According to the National Hurricane Center, currently Tropical Storm Delta is in the Gulf posing risk to the KCSR network. Tropical Storm Delta is moving toward the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to have some impact to the coastline between Texas and the Florida Panhandle as early as Thursday morning, October 8th, 2020. At this time, it is too early to predict the strength of the storm. 

The Flood Protection Agency (FPA) recommended that the New Orleans Public Belt be closed in advance of the storms. The floodgates in the NOLA Gateway will begin closing Wednesday morning and will remain closed until the storm has passed and it is safe to reopen.   

As always, the safety of our employees, customers’ shipments and the communities we serve remains the priority. We are closely monitoring the storm and will notify if there are any changes to our network or service.
