Intermodal Facility and Automotive Terminal requirements due to COVID-19

July 17, 2020

The safety of our employees, our partners, the communities we serve and our customers has always been our #1 priority and never more so than during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leveraging expert resources such as the CDC and both the federal and local governments in the communities in which we serve, we have implemented protocols for both our employees and visitors who enter our buildings and facilities.

Below, is a list of our requirements for all who enter our Intermodal facilities and/or Automotive Terminals.

We ask that all those experiencing any of the following to reschedule their visit:

  • Feeling ill and/or have flu-like symptoms (or any COVID symptoms) or have been symptomatic within the last 7 days
  • Having a fever of 100.4˚F (38C) or greater within the last 72 hours
  • Been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID-19 within the last 14 days
  • Have returned from international travel within the last 14 days

Additionally, while in the intermodal facility and/or automotive terminal - including outdoors - KCS requires the use of face coverings covering the nose and mouth. We also request that when possible, social distancing of 6’ (2 meters) is maintained.

We would like to thank our industry rail partners and customers for your collaboration during this time. While we recognize that uncertainty remains, we are committed to providing a safe work environment for our customers, partners and employees.

KCS remains fully engaged and committed to all our stakeholders as we continue to work through this pandemic, never losing sight of our vision to be the fastest-growing, best-performing, most customer-focused transportation provider in North America.
